Silencer stack structures
The integrated silencer-chimney structures can be used for diesel or gas engine noise attenuation.
Silencers equipped with spark arresters are suitable to be used in shipbuilding and marine industry and in environments with classification “inflammable” or “explosive”.
Operating principle
The integrated exhaust gas silencer-chimney operates on the principle of absorptive silencing, reactive silencing or combination of these, absorptive-reactive silencing. The principle used depends on the application.
Material choice
In the choice of silencer and chimney structure, attention shall be paid to weather conditions. In normal conditions, the silencer and the chimney structure are made of weather-proof Cor-Ten steel. If corrosive acid gases are present, we recommend the choice of acid-resistant steel for the structure material. Paying attention to the environmental conditions you can maximise the lifetime of the silencer and chimney structure.
Models equipped with spark arrester
Silencer models that are equipped with spark-arresters are suitable for marine industry and other industries that operate with explosive and inflammable substances. The spark-collecting capacity of the arrester is optimised in relation to the backpressure and the nominal size of the piping. The operation is based on the spark-arrester built inside the silencer. The spark-arrester directs the exhaust gas flow toward the shell plate and the sparks further to the spark-box.
